The Evangelical Table

I’m Joe Castleberry and I want to welcome you personally to this pro-immigrant blog.  Around the United States, Evangelical leaders have been moved by the difficult situation of immigrants in our country, especially those who lack legal permission to reside here.  Seeing an opportune moment in our national politics, many of us have joined together to promote reform in our immigration laws.  Our group is called the Evangelical Immigration Table.

Inspired by what the Bible says about migrants and strangers, we have made a special video to appeal to the conscience of Christians in our country.  The video can be seen at the following web site.  It contains an impressive “audiovisual catalog” of noted leaders who support a compassionate reception of immigrants.

In addition to the video, the web site proposes the “I was a Stranger” Challenge, which programs 40 days of Scripture readings and prayer for immigrants.  I invite you to take the challenge!

If you are an immigrant who feels discouraged by difficult circumstances, know that God loves you and there are people all over our country who are praying for you.  Welcome to the table, friend!
